S & D 2010 Grapes 2 vs Norths
« on: July 08, 2010, 11:17:17 AM »
4th place Smarty's Army continue their upwardly mobile S & D campaign tonight away at rock bottom club Grapes 2 http://www.cgleague.co.uk/archives/tables.php?DB=B&L=SD&S=2010.

The Fortress of Grapes has been squashed three times so far this season. All successes though have come from the three heavyweight teams who are above us in the league. So tonight will be a good test to see if we are also one of the so called 'big four'.

The reverse fixture saw Grapes escape from the ToN with 1.5 points http://www.cgleague.co.uk/archives/match.php?DB=B&L=SD&S=2010&D=B&H=5&A=1.

Wonderkid Jack 'Pieman' Holland remains in pole position on the leaderboard whilst Smarty is hovering just below and was accused of being a rabbit magnet last week http://www.cgleague.co.uk/archives/aves.php?DB=B&L=SD&S=2010.

Norths are perhaps weakened tonight without 100% player Joe Kitchen. Will this mean a recall for our expert pegger and card marker All_But? Will PC Plod return to the side? Options will need to be considered and decisions made by the skip tonight.

As pointed out in another article, Norths have a great chance of reaching third position in the league tonight at the expense of New Mills. Such a league position will no doubt go down very well with the fans who were not sure what to expect after last years promotion. Scoring more than 10 points would see this achieved, this translates as 5 winners and aggy minimum.

Thoughts and predictions are welcome.

Not seen their green but it will be pretty quick ;D

As your captain, I am obliged to advise you as best I can so I would say this;

Send your woods so that they land nearer to the jack than your oponenent's. Try and do this as often as possible.

If you all follow my advice, we will get 10 winners tonight :L)

Oh yeah, great write-up again smiffy
I didn't lose my marbles, I swapped them for a set of 2-10's

Apparantly the green is a mess. Was talking to Mike Reid and he said it's as bad as it's been for a while.

Sound like most greens then.

Bowling greens are a bit more like bowling browns these days and after the hosepipe ban this weekend they will be known as bowling fields or bowling dried river beds

The Grapes look a poor bunch to be honest, with a bit of thought they could be a better blend, but it looks as all their best selection are in a different bottle altogether.

You must all put your best foot forward tonight,un-cork them, then squeeze them, for every drop they are worth.

I'll go for eight and the aggy tonight lads....and dont let me down ok.

And be sure to put the empty's in the correct colour bin on your way out.  ;D

According to one of the Highbank vets(who played there this week)the greensman has lifted his blades to maximize what grass is left, so, may not be as fast as it could have been!
Stu.
Current clubs: North's & Delamere.

5 and aggy for me. Golden shovels at the ready, reckon we will need to do some collective digging to close out the aggregate later (dig).

Grapes 5, Norths 10.5
