Fantasy Tameside Bowling League

A challenge to Keith (as the master of ceremonies)
Would it be possible to come up with a "fantasy bowling team" - put a price on every player in the league - based on past performance and the league they play in. Everyone has 100 million to spend - or maybe a tenner is more realistic - and play it on a points for and against basis? Transfers included - could be fun!!! what do you think? If Keith can't be arse maybe i would do it!! What do you all think?! Could even play for a couple of quid!!!!

This is really Smarty's baby - I'm not really master of anything (especially Freizland!) But I'm game - there will be a price cap, and it'll have to be based on last years averages - Stockport Board do a fantasy league, and it does work well.
Give me a week or so (Still a bit busy jugglin Tameside stuff) and I'll try to work out a formula - Those that wanna chip in for a small wager can PM  or e-mail with their names if they don't wanna disclose on here. Anyone else can join in for fun.

Fantastic idea - although you should have to have yourself in your team as captain!

Looking at your stats from last year you will do ok. - Or are you scared of going up a division (or was it a one season wonder haha)

OK - This is just to dip your toe in - we can tweak it with suggestions before the seasons begins:

Choose a team name.

Select a team of 10 - Your selections must not exceed 150million (Based on last years averages, every point represents 1million)

Select 4 Reserves - (This is to replace players that have moved on / retired etc) If after say 6 league games any of your selections having not played, then this player can be substituted, but again the overall total musn't exceed 150m (So choose your reserves wisely!)

You cannot select more than 3 players from any one team.

Select one of your original 10 as captain - his score will be worth double.

At the end of June a transfer window will open, allowing you to replace 2 of your original side with any of your named reserves if you so wish.

Teams must be sent by PM or e-mail to myself BEFORE the opening week of the season (Mid April ish) and I'll post the teams when they are all in.

Something like that?

So are you selecting 16 players not to go over 150 million? Does that mean you can pick 16 players with average of 9????? Surely that means you could get the best 16 players in the league?!

Erm no.
The original 10 must not exceed 150m - Based on last years 'averages' Tommy Heyes for example (who won the Premier average) would cost you 22million.
Then any incoming reserves musn't exceed the price of the player you are replacing if it sends the overall total over 150m

OR

We can base it on actual average (In this case Tommy Heyes would now cost 9.16m) Obviously we'd reduce the cap to say 60 or 70million.

...and yes Smarty ANY sponsor would be very welcome!

Ahhh so your basing it on points scored rather than average as you stated. Am with it now.

Would it be based soley on midweek league stats? Some players play in both Sat and midweek and so would have two different valuations?!

Good point Berty - But we'll stick with Midweek as that's where the majority are - Besides Bush took a step up on Saturdays too so I can't see my average being any any better!

I know your desperate to put me in your team Berty!!  :D

Hmm of course - don't forget i've seen you play many times!

Another point - surely a player scoring 20 points in the prem has to be worth more than a player scoring 21 points in division 3?!
