Bowling in Tameside & Longdendale / James North....

After playing on the green Friday night I can safely say that Smarty was right! If it was used for the county and the home team learnt it, my god, they could destroy teams on there  ;D and I didn't even play it when it was quick! A great home green and I bet it can become frightening during a hot summer  :)

Yeah but a county bowler will learn it quickly and a few hours/days/weeks practice he will be like a homester. The visitor will only have his single visit in which to learn it ;)

If anyone can learn a green from a couple days practice then I don't consider it that good of a home green lol and the away players in the county usually the best of the whole squad so they'll have the ability to come on and bowl it anyway. I'll be able to pass more judgement when I've bowled it this season  ;D

On the contrary my good man. When it gets quick, the homesters know how to bowl it ;)  :-X ssshhhhh

Oh of course they will lol but none of the county players are gonna be homesters are they...they haven't got THAT long to learn it (homesters ideally have years of experience on the green)

I think it's pretty simple. The county try and choose a green where they think they can win well at home. However from what I've heard when Norths becomes QUICK it's no advantage to either player. Friezland on the other hand I think would be a fantastic choice because if you learn it then it becomes a massive weapon. With a bit of practice (taking into account a lot of the county players will have played friezland a few times) I think they could easily win by a cricket score at home if they picked it  :L)

Same bowl (when you're counting) - Oh yeh cheers for that I wouldn't have tried to get another otherwise lol

Don't pass it (jack is on the edge) - Obviously....

Take some out (when you're bowls gone off the green) Well yeh I wouldn't put some in would I?
